“Deputy William T. Banner out of someplace called Silby’s Pond, Arkansas.”

Unlike the recurring characters whom we ID fans all love and adore, Will Banner was a one-off character in Devoted In Death and his appearance in that one book totally had me crushing on him.

He’s super tall, lean with blond wavy hair, blue gray eyes and a cop to the bone. A deep sense of duty and justice drove him all the way from that tiny town, Silby’s Pond, Arkansas to the Big Apple.

There was just something so earnest about him that was charming. Add in the humor and compassion, he’s one of my favorite characters in the ID series. I wish there were more appearances of him in the series because I really wanted to see more of him but per his characteristics, he was a man comfortable in his little town and his job as Deputy, to protect that town. So of course, sadly, no more appearances of him.

I absolutely enjoyed reading Devoted ID and totally loved William T. Banner. I’m about to re-read the book so I thought Will Banner was a really good choice for this Saturday. πŸ™‚
