Book Review: Vicious (Sinners of Saint #1) – L.J. Shen

Rating: 2/5 🌟🌟

Genre: Contemporary Romance (contains Explicit Content)

Review:

First off, I should point out that L.J. Shen’s a new author for me and I really liked her book, Scandalous. The writing was raw and the forbidden romance well done in Scandalous. Sadly, Vicious was a bit of a letdown. Continue reading “Book Review: Vicious (Sinners of Saint #1) – L.J. Shen”

Book Review: Stage Kiss – M.F. Lorson

Rating: 3/5 🌟🌟🌟

Genre: Contemporary RomanceRomantic Comedy

Review:

How lovely is this cover? I have to admit that I was hooked in by the cover first. The synopsis was quite interesting as well and romantic comedies are one of my favorite genres. So I decided to give this book a try.

The author’s writing was really good, witty and funny and had me cracking up at a lot of the scenes. I enjoyed the main character’s POV very much. Her internal monologue was equal parts insight and story-telling with dashes of humor and sarcasm sprinkled over. Which if you haven’t figured out, is pretty good. Book Review: Scandalous (Sinners of Saint #3) – L.J. Shen

Rating: 4/5 🌟🌟🌟🌟

Genre: Contemporary Romance (contains Explicit Content)

Review:

I’ve had a thing for forbidden romances since as long as I can remember, excluding Romeo and Juliet however, because that was just plain a tragedy that could have been avoided. But I digress. I saw Scandalous, checked out the synopsis and I had to read it. Even though it was the third book in the Sinners of Saint series and I had yet to read the earlier books, it was Trent and Edie’s story I wanted to know most. Review:

Romantic comedies full of witty humor are one of my favorite genres. So I was quite interested in reading this book. Added to that, the cover’s pretty clever. Book Review: Chesapeake Blue (Chesapeake Bay Saga #4) – Nora Roberts

Rating: 5/5 Stars

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Read Count: 3 times

Review:

Seth, all grown-up. I remember when I first read the stories of the Quinn brothers. Seth was still a snot-nosed kid and Nora Roberts hadn’t written his story yet. I remember how much I wished that she’d tell us his story too and she did. Since then, I’ve read Chesapeake Blue twice and this is my third re-read. Book Review: Shelter In Place – Nora Roberts

Rating: 4/5 Stars

Genre: Contemporary, Thriller, Romance

Review:

I’ve never witnessed a mass shooting, never been subjected to that terror or the yawning grief of losing a loved one and I hope to God I never do. I don’t have to experience it to know what it’s like, not when Nora Roberts made me feel as if it was happening to me. Continue reading “Book Review: Shelter In Place – Nora Roberts”

Book Review: Getting Revenge on Lauren Wood – Eileen Cook

Rating: 5/5 Stars

Genre: Young Adult, Contemporary

Review:

This book struck very close to one of my own personal issues and set of values. A best friend is sacred and deserves your loyalty and protection. You don’t betray your best friend and throw her to the wolves. You don’t add to her misery. There’s a special kind of hell for people who betray and cheat and lie and hurt others for their own gain. Book Review: The Distance Between Us – Kasie West

Rating: 4/5 Stars

Genre: Young Adult, Contemporary

Review:

I was in a reading slump when I decided to read Kasie West’s THE DISTANCE BETWEEN US. Fellow bookworms, you know how reading slumps can be. Annoying as hell because you don’t feel like reading any book or even feel much of anything. Reading slumps suck. Continue reading “Book Review: The Distance Between Us – Kasie West”

Book Review: If We Were a Movie – Kelly Oram (Spoilers warning)

Rating: 5/5 Stars

Genre: Contemporary, Romance, Young Adult

Review:

I didn’t like Nate at first, because instead of facing his problems, he avoided them or he used wile and guile to deflect. But later, hints of strength peeked out from his character. Like when he stood up for Jordan in front of that creep who dissed her. Continue reading “Book Review: If We Were a Movie – Kelly Oram (Spoilers warning)”
