Monthly Wrap-Up – April 2019

I can’t believe April’s over. It was a mixed-up month for me. Part of it went excruciatingly slow, especially my recovery from the tonsillectomy and the rest went by too fast. How about you guys? What was April like for you?

On the reading front I was able to read only 9 books this month.

1. Neron Rising – Keary Taylor

Neron Rising was a 5-star read for me. Loved it! I’m hoping to get to the other books in the series in May.

2. You’d be Mine by Erin Hahn

A Netgalley book that was pretty good.

3-5. Lizzie Grace book 2-4 by Keri Arthur

This was a pretty disappointing series for me. The first book was really good but the rest kind of dragged.

6 – The Quiet You Carry by Nikki Barthelmess

Another surprising good book from Netgalley. 🙂

7. Silent Blade (Kinsmen, #1) by Ilona Andrews

This was a short read with more of a simple romance plot-line rather than a more intriguing sci-fi plot but it was a nice three-starred story.

8. Silver Shark (Kinsmen, #2) by Ilona Andrews

This story was awesome and I wish there were more books in this series!

9. Origins (Alphas, #0.5) by Ilona Andrews

This was another good story but it ended up too abruptly for me. Too bad this series doesn’t have more books as well.

So that’s it concerning April for me. For three-quarter of the month I was laid down with the tonsillectomy. You’d think I’d be able to read tons of books during my convalescence, right?

Wrong. The pain was so bad (even with pain medication) that I couldn’t get past it and focus on the stories I tried to read. Anyway, I did a major overhaul of my TBR list and prioritized the books for the ones I most wanna read in May. We’ll see how it goes.

Hope your April was more productive than mine and I wish everyone a fruitful May. Mazel Tov.

I'm a die-hard bibliophile and I'm also an introvert. My blog's about books, books and more books. (yep, that was easy) I might, from time to time, write about life and its vagaries. I like taking pictures of books and doing origami.

  1. Ugh. Tonsilectomy recovery SUCKS. It was excruciating for me. I hope you are on the mend now.
I’m looking forward to reading the quiet you carry
