Saturday Stars – 26 May 2018 – August Flynn

I’ve had a tiring day, and even doing this post is taking all of my energy. Some days it’s just not worth getting out of bed.

How to participate in this meme:
1. Credit the creator of this tag (Me! πŸ˜‰ ) and link back.
2. Answer the three questions pertaining to the character.
3. Have fun revisiting your favorite characters and their worlds.

Questions:
1 – Saturday Star (Name the Character you want to feature.)
2 – Which book or series does the character live in?
3 – Why is this character among your favorites?

Saturday Star: August Flynn
Book/Series: This Savage Song/Our Dark Duet – Victoria Schwab

“Sunai, Sunai, eyes like coal,
Sing you a song and steal your soul.”

How to describe August? As a monster? One who wished to be human at that. He was so much more. More human, more compassionate, striving to do the right thing. He was so conflicted, questioning his existence and his place in the world.

It was admirable how he kept fighting his nature, doing his best to hold on to his humanity in a world flung into chaos and violence. How he didn’t take things at face value and saw Kate for who she was. He saw her and found a kindred soul.

I have yet to do the review for Our Dark Duet but it was a heartbreaking read for me. I had so wanted a happy ending and for August to lose so much? It just wasn’t fair.
