Saturday Stars – 31 March 2018 – Waylander

Last day of March. Time flew by so fast, I feel like I’ve barely done anything productive. In addition, my procrastination got the best of me today. I was super lazy and didn’t get anything done. 😦 Good thing I started this meme or else no post today. I have so many favorite characters, which one to choose from? πŸ˜‰

How to participate in this meme:
1. Credit the creator of this tag (Me! πŸ˜‰ ) and link back.
2. Answer the three questions pertaining to the character.
3. Have fun revisiting your favorite characters and their worlds.

Questions:
1 – Saturday Star (Name the Character you want to feature.)
2 – Which book or series does the character live in?
3 – Why is this character among your favorites?

Saturday Star:Β Waylander
Book/Series: Waylander, In The Realm of The Wolf, Hero In The Shadows – David Gemmell

There was once a man named Dakeyras who loved his family more than anything. Tragedy struck and that man died. Waylander the Slayer was born on that day. He was an assassin, a force of nature.Β His sense of survival, his self-awareness of danger was incredible. His fighting skills were spooky, legendary.

I empathized with him over all he’d lost but he was a man shaped by trauma into a deadly weapon. It was in the midst of danger that he felt most alive. His capacity to care, to love was his biggest strength and it was what had been his downfall. It was losing the people he loved which had caused him to seek revenge. It was what had turned Dakeyras into Waylander.

He’s one of my favorite David Gemmell characters. I feel such a depth of admiration and hero-worship for him. Wah, doing this post makes me want to re-read the books again! πŸ™‚

Hope you guys are having a better Saturday than me. Happy Easter!
