Book Review: Echoes In Death – J.D. Robb (Spoilers warning)

Rating: 5/5 Stars

Genre: Thriller, Suspense, Futuristic

I started on Echoes ID during the bus ride home. And read on till 1 a.m. That alone shows what I thought of this book. Every bookworm knows that when you can’t give up reading till it’s almost morning, then the book is definitely a keeper.

This latest case hit a bit too close to Eve’s own traumatic past. It resonated with echoes of her own trauma, echoes which took extreme courage for her to face. My heart went out to her.

As always, I loved the interactions between her and Roarke. Especially her view on the first Avengers movie. Just imagine, for Eve and Roarke, our present is their past. And her dream about working with the Avengers? She’d totally do that.

I guessed who the killer was but that little twist at the end? So did not see that coming. And heartbreaking for Eve. Her courage and integrity came through loud and clear.

Another great book by JD Robb. Can’t wait for the next one that comes out.

Synopsis: As NY Lt. Eve Dallas and her billionaire husband Roarke are driving home, a young woman—dazed, naked, and bloody—suddenly stumbles out in front of their car. Roarke slams on the brakes and Eve springs into action. Daphne Strazza is rushed to the ER, but it’s too late for her husband Dr. Anthony Strazza. A brilliant orthopedic surgeon, he now lies dead amid the wreckage of his obsessively organized town house, his three safes opened and emptied. Daphne would be a valuable witness, but in her terror and shock the only description of the perp she can offer is repeatedly calling him “the devil”… While it emerges that Dr. Strazza was cold, controlling, and widely disliked, this is one case where the evidence doesn’t point to the spouse. So Eve and her team must get started on the legwork, interviewing everyone from dinner-party guests to professional colleagues to caterers, in a desperate race to answer some crucial questions: What does the devil look like? And where will he show up next?

I'm a die-hard bibliophile and I'm also an introvert. My blog's about books, books and more books. (yep, that was easy) I might, from time to time, write about life and its vagaries. I like taking pictures of books and doing origami.
